FACTS ABOUT BULLYING:
- Bullying is never acceptable.
- Students who are bullied often deal with social anxiety, loneliness, withdrawal, physical illness, and low self esteem.
- In 85% of cases, bullying takes place in front of witnesses.
- Both boys and girls can be bullies
WHAT IS BULLYING?
- When someone or a group picks on you.
- Physical abuse or violent threats.
- Put-downs and name calling.
- Threats for money or your possessions.
- Spreading rumours or gossip.
- Sending hurtful comments through the use of e-mail and text messaging.
STEPS TO DEAL WITH BULLYING?
- Say "NO" or "LEAVE ME ALONE" loudly.
- Stay COOL.
- Walk away from the situation.
- Tell SOMEONE you trust (a friend, parent, classmate, principal, or teacher)
