FACTS ABOUT BULLYING:

  • Bullying is never acceptable.
  • Students who are bullied often deal with social anxiety, loneliness, withdrawal, physical illness, and low self esteem.
  • In 85% of cases, bullying takes place in front of witnesses.
  • Both boys and girls can be bullies

WHAT IS BULLYING?

  • When someone or a group picks on you.
  • Physical abuse or violent threats.
  • Put-downs and name calling.
  • Threats for money or your possessions.
  • Spreading rumours or gossip.
  • Sending hurtful comments through the use of e-mail and text messaging.

STEPS TO DEAL WITH BULLYING?

  1. Say "NO" or "LEAVE ME ALONE" loudly.
  2. Stay COOL.
  3. Walk away from the situation.
  4. Tell SOMEONE you trust (a friend, parent, classmate, principal, or teacher)
