Grade 12 Fine Arts

In Miss O'Leary's Grade Twelve Visual Art class, we explore many themes such as surrealism but we also develop our portfolio for future references. In the beginning of the year, our class covered surrealism; both historical and our personal views on surrealism. The surrealism pieces we created contained our fears, our dreams, our nightmares, or our fantasies.

Then we get into the portfolio setting which is set over the course of the semester. During the semester, we must complete 5 masterworks individually which contains one theme that links all works together.

Near the end of the year, our class will come together to make small collaborative pieces in groups. This activity will open up people's borders to other ideas and it will give an artist's total manipulation to another artist. The entirety of the course itself contains many challenges but it is our vision to meet all of them so that we may better as a visual artist.

2008's grade twelve class contains many diverse people and often we find ourselves in discussions about views and beliefs. Having these discussions helps each artist find their own path in life and creates a better vision of us for the future. Our goals might not all be the same but we hope to acquire the knowledge from the visual arts course so that we can achieve that goal.
