Monarch Pride

SCHOOL MOTTO: AMARE ET SERVIRE, translated TO LOVE AND SERVE

THE SYMBOLS IN THE CREST: The CROWN symbolizes the honour of Blessed Mother Mary as the Mother of Jesus Christ and our spiritual Mother and
Queen. The CROSS serves as a reminder of Christ’s death and resurrection. The SHIELD represents the courage needed to make wise and honourable choices and the protection acquired through prayer and devotion to our Blessed Mother. The VINES symbolize our communion with Christ and reliance upon His grace.

THE SCHOOL COLOURS: GREY AND BLUE: Chosen to honour our Blessed Mother, asking for her guidance and love.

THE SCHOOL LOGO: THE LION OVER THE “M.” The name under which our school teams compete is THE MONARCHS. The “Monarch” was chosen by the student body to represent our respect and admiration for Mary our spiritual Mother and Queen. Secondly, “Monarch” represents the highest standard of excellence and leadership to which we expect our athletes and teams to aspire. Finally, “Monarch” was chosen to represent our striving for the highest moral qualities and fame associated with nobility.

THE SCHOOL MASCOT: LEO THE LION was chosen for his hustle and aggressiveness as depicted by the position of the arms, legs and tail. The chest, held high, expresses pride and confidence while the slight grin and devilish look on the face makes us realize that for all its intensity, we cannot take ourselves or our activity too seriously. Sport must also be fun.
